Scheduled to report quarterly earnings before the market opens on Thursday, Sony (SNE | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) is expected to announce an EPS loss of 2.08. Trading above its 200-day moving average, shares of SNE plunged more than 3% on Wednesday.

Two retailers are also reporting earnings before the bell Thursday morning. Wal-Mart (WMT | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) is expected to report per share earnings of 77 cents. 17 cents is per share is what analysts expect to hear from Urban Outfitters (URBN | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating). Both stocks are increasingly oversold below their respective 200-day moving averages.

Pharmaceutical stocks were among the few to move higher on Wednesday. Closing up for the the fifth consecutive trading day in a row below the 200-day moving average were shares of Pfizer (PFE | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating).

Among the companies reporting earnings after the close on Thursday, Blockbuster (BBI | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) is expected to announce per share earnings of 0.14, while Kohls (KSS | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) is expected to report EPS of 0.44. 0.25 is what analysts are expecting to hear from retailer Nordstrom (JWN | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating). While Kohls was off by more than 4% on the day, both Blockbuster and Nordstrom lost more than 7%.
