7 Stocks you need to know for Wednesday

The Dow closed down 8.05. The Nasdaq Composite fell 5.60. And the S&P 500 ended the day lower by 2.35.

Here are 7 Stocks You Need to Know for Wednesday.

Among a number of companies reporting quarterly earnings Wednesday morning before the market opens are Qwest Communications (Q | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating), which is expected to report EPS of 8 cents, and Time Warner (TWX | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating), which is expected to announce per share earnings of 43 cents.

Also expected to announce earnings before the bell on Wednesday are health care related companies Wyeth (WYE | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) and ViroPharma (VPHM | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating). Analysts are expecting to hear per share earnings of 88 cents from Wyeth and 15 cents from ViroPharma.

EPS of 1.47 is what General Dynamics (GD | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) is expected to report when it announces quarterly earnings Wednesday morning before the open.

Traders on Wednesday also will likely be focusing on the shares of two companies reporting earnings after the close. Starbucks (SBUX | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) is expected to report per share earnings of 15 cents. 64 cents is what analysts are expecting from Visa Inc. (V | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating).
