Morning News

Futures are pointing to a lower open this morning.

European markets are trading lower today.

In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 did end lower.

Crude oil is $88.90 per barrel.

Wholesale gasoline is $2.24 per gallon.

Natural gas is $7.16 per unit.

Gold back above $790.00 per ounce.

Yesterday's action saw the Dow give back 57 points, the Nasdaq lost 23 points, and the S&P ended 8 points lower.

Bank of Canada will make interest rate decision.

Lehman Brothers to buy assets from Van der Moolen.

Merrill Lynch names Nelson Chai Chief Financial Officer.

Alltel Corp. to pay $1.33 million settlement to the government.

In sports the New England Patriots improved to 12-0 after just getting by the Baltimore Rvens 27-24.
