Morning News

Futures are pointing to a slightly higher open this morning.

European markets are slightly higher so far today.

In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 did end lower.

August producer price index will be released at 8:30 this morning.

Fed decision on interest rates to be released at 2:15 this afternoon.

Crude oil sitting just below $81.00 per barrel.

Wholesale gasoline is $2.04 per gallon.

Natural gas is currently $6.72 per unit.

Gold up to $728.00 per ounce.

Lehman Brothers will be reporting earnings today.

General Motors downgraded this morning.

E-Trade Financial cuts earnings outlook and will put an end to wholesale mortgage operations.

Apple Computer will sell the iPhone in Europe for $542.00.

Boeing Company believes Chinese carriers will need 3,400 planes over the next 20 years.
