Blow out positive earnings from investment banking giant, Goldman Sachs and the best retail sales figures in five months were not enough to send stocks rallying on the day. Negative wholesale price figures and inflation fears kept shares modestly higher on the day. The DJIA advanced 27.81 after flirting about breakeven. Tech heavy Nasdaq added 6.52 and the broad based S&P 500 gained 4.78.
