7 Stocks you need to know for Monday

Steve Ballmer of Microsoft (MSFT | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) said that the company was no longer interested in trying to work out a merger deal involving Yahoo! (YHOO | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating).

General Motors (GM | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) widely missed analyst earnings estimates and warned of a significant shortage of cash in the first quarter of 2009 if the company does not get some sort of assistance. The company is also halting talks of a potential merger with Chrysler to focus on immediate financial concerns. Ford Motor Company (F | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating), which also reported earnings on Friday, similarly missed estimates and expressed grave concern over its deteriorating cash situation.

Wells Fargo (WFC | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) raised more than $11 billion in a stock offering designed to help raise capital for the bank's acquisition of Wachovia (WB | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating).

Starbucks (SBUX | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) is expected to announce earnings per share of 0.13 when the company reports Monday after the bell.
