Morning News

Futures are pointing to a slightly lower open this morning.

European markets are mixed so far today.

In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 did close higher.

Weekly jobless claims will be out this morning.

Philly Fed Index for the month of April set to be released.

Leading indicators for the month of March due to be released.

Energy Dept. will release weekly natural gas inventories at 10:30 this morning.

Yesterday's action saw the Dow gain 256 points, the Nasdaq added 64 points, and the S&P closed 30 points higher.

International Business Machines out with better than expected quarterly results.

Pfizer quarterly results show a drop in profit.

Merrill Lynch reports a $1.96 billion loss and reportedly will cut 4,000 jobs.

After the bell tonight everybody will be looking for Google's quarterly results.

Crude oil is now $114.75 per gallon.

Wholesale gasoline is up to $2.95 per gallon.

Natural gas is $10.45 per unit.

Gold back up to $949.00 per ounce.
