Morning News

Futures are pointing to a higher start to the morning.

European markets are trading higher so far today.

In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 did end a bit higher.

Crude oil is $90.59 per barrel.

Wholesale gasoline is sitting at $2.29 per gallon.

Natural gas is $8.16 per unit.

Gold is currently $877.00 per ounce.

Reports on leading indicators, and consumer sentiment will be out at 10:00 this morning.

President Bush will be speaking about the economy and a stimulus package today.

Yesterday's action saw the Dow take a beating to the tune of nearly 307 points, the Nasdaq lost 47 points, and the S&P gave back nearly 40 points.

International Business Machines guides 2008 forcast above expectations.

Washington Mutual reports a $1.87 billion loss for the quarter after a $1.6 billion write down.

General Electric quarterly profit up 4% revenue better than the expected $47.28 billion, and holds 2008 guidance.
