Morning News

Futures are pointing to a much lower open this morning.

European markets are trading lower today.

In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 did end lower at a 26 month low.

Crude oil has pulled back to $92.92 per barrel.

Wholesale gasoline is $2.33 per gallon.

Natural gas is sitting at $8.29 per unit.

Gold is at $891.00 per ounce.

Trade gap for the month of November will be released at 8:30 this morning.

December import price index will be released at 8:30 this morning.

Yesterday's action saw the Dow close 117 points higher, the Nasdaq gained 14 points, and the S&P got back just over 11 points.

Ben Bernanke yesterday stating aggressive rate action could be needed.

Bank of America to buy Countrywide Financial for a reported $4 billion.

American Express warning it may take a $440 million charge in the fourth quarter.

Merrill Lynch reportedly to report a loss of $15 billion due to mortgage investments.
