Morning News

Futures are pointing to a slightly higher open at this point in the morning.

European markets are trading up a bit today.

In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 did end slightly higher.

Crude oil is $91.62 per barrel.

Wholesale gasoline is $2.34 per gallon.

Natural gas is sitting at $7.18 per unit.

Gold is currently $801.00 per ounce.

Weekly jobless claims will be released at 8:30 this morning.

November leading indicators will be out at 10:00 this morning.

Final release of third quarter GDP will be out today.

December Philly Fed Survey also will be released today.

Yesterday's action saw the Dow give back 25 points, the Nasdaq ended about 5 points higher, and the S&P lost 2 points.

Bank of China lifts interest rates, while the Bank of Japan leaves rates unchanged.

Oracle reports 35% rise in quarterly profit topping all expectations.

Nike also out with a good quarter which topped the street's expectations.

Bear Stearns and FedEx just a couple of companies set to report quarterly results today.
