Morning News

Futures are pointing to a lower open this morning.

European markets are trading lower so far today.

In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 did end lower.

Crude oil is $90.19 per barrel.

Wholesale gasoline is $2.31 per gallon.

Natural gas is back up to $7.16 per unit.

Gold is currently $805.00 per ounce.

The Energy Dept. will release weekly oil inventory levels at 10:30 this morning.

Yesterday's action saw the Dow end 65 points higher, the Nasdaq was up 21 points, and the S&P finished 9 points higher.

A report is out this morning showing foreclosures are up 68% from one year ago. The report also shows November forclosures are down just a bit from the previous month.

Allstate reportedly saying California fires have resulted in 7,000 claims estimated at about $335 million.

A report is out saying Bear Stearns executives may forgo bonuses this year.

Phillips Electronic has announced a $7.2 billion stock buyback.

Honda will reportedly invest heavily in hybrid vehicle research.
