Morning News

Futures are pointing to a slightly higher open this morning.

European markets are trading a bit lower so far today.

In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 did end higher.

Crude oil is $88.19 per barrel.

Wholesale gasoline is $2.25 per gallon.

Natural gas back above $7.00 per unit.

Gold is currently $810.00 per ounce.

October wholesale inventories will be released at 10:00 this morning.

Fed decision on interest rates will be released at 2:15 this afternoon. Most expectations call for a cut of a quarter point.

Yesterday's action saw the Dow gain 101 points, the Nasdaq finished 12 points higher, and the S&P was up 11 points.

Washington Mutual to leave the subprime loan business, cut 3,150 jobs, and cut its dividend.

Texas Instruments has lifted the low end forcast for earnings and revenue.

Conrad Black sentenced to 6 1/2 years in prison.

U.S. and China have signed a deal in hopes of safer food and drugs as well as medical devices.
