Morning News

Futures are pointing to a higher open this morning.

In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 did close higher.

European markets are trading to the upside so far today.

Crude oil is just below $96.00 per barrel.

Wholesale gasoline is $2.40 per gallon.

Natural gas is currently $7.62 per unit.

Gold is $787.00 per ounce.

Weekly retail chain index will be released at 7:45 this morning.

Housing starts for the month of October will be out at 8:30 this morning.

October building permit numbers will be released at 8:30 this morning.

Minutes from the latest Fed meeting will be released at 2:00 this afternoon.

Yesterday's action saw the Dow lose 218 points, the Nasdaq giving back 43 points, and the S&P gave back 25 points.

Chatter of an emergency Fed meeting is floating around.

Hewlett Packard reports better than expected quarter, and forcast for current quarter is very strong.
