Morning News

Futures are mixed this morning with the Nasdaq pointing to a lower open, and the Dow and the S & P pointing to a slightly higher open.

European markets are mixed.

In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 did end lower.

Crude oil is just under $97.00 per barrel.

Wholesale gasoline is $2.45 per gallon.

Natural gas slipping back to $7.65 per unit.

Gold is $834.00 per ounce.

Weekly jobless claims will be out at 8:30 this morning.

The Energy Dept. will release natural gas inventories at 10:30 this morning.

Ben Bernanke will be speaking before congress today.

Bank of England leaves key interest rate unchanged.

Morgan Stanley reportedly will take a $3.7 billion hit due to subprime exposure.

Ford out with better than expected quarterly results.

Toll Brothers quarterly results show a decline in revenue of 36%

Rio Tinto rejects bid from BHP Billiton.
