Morning News

Futures are pointing to a slightly higher open at this point in the morning.

European markets are trading just a bit higher so far today.

In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 did end higher.

Crude oil spiking to $91.40 per barrel.

Wholesale gasoline is up to $2.25 per gallon.

Natural gas is $7.13 per unit.

Gold on the move sitting at levels it has not seen in 28 years $779.00 per ounce.

Final release of October consumer confidence poll will be released this morning.

Microsoft reports a better than expected 23% rise in profit and lifts outlook.The stock in after hours trading was at levels it hasn't seen since 2001.

Baidu.com quarterly profit nearly doubles on demand for online advertising.

There is a report out that Merrill Lynch CEO had discussions about a merger with Wachovia.

In game 2 of the World Series the Boston Red Sox beat the Colorado Rockies 2-1 last night. The Red Sox lead the series 2-0 with game 3 in Colorado Saturday night.
