Morning News

Futures are pointing to a higher open this morning.

European markets are trading higher today.

In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 did advance just a bit.

Crude oil is $87.56 per barrel.

Wholesale gasoline is $2.13 per gallon.

Natural gas is sitting just below $7.00 per unit.

Gold is $763.00 per ounce.

Apple inc. beats the street with a 67% rise in quarterly profit on strong sales of the iPhone, iPod, and its Macintosh computers.

Texas Instruments reports a weaker than expected third quarter, and predicts weaker current quarter.

Netflix earnings better than expected on subscriber growth.

General Motors tops Toyota in vehicle sales for the third quarter.

Dupont, Lockheed Martin, and AT&T to lead the way with earnigs reports due today.

President Bush has declared a national emergency in the state of California. Fires continue to burn out of control forcing the evacuation of as many as 265,000 people. It is believed at this time that at least 700 homes have been lost with that number expected to grow.
