S&P futures vs fair value: -3.2. Nasdaq futures vs fair value: -7.8.

Goldman Sachs reports earnings well above expectations, Bear Stearns well below. There has been little net impact on the broad market, which still shows signs of profit-taking after two strong up days. New claims for week of September 15 remain at a very low level, suggesting businesses are not in recession mode of laying off workers.
