Morning News

Futures are pointing to a higher open this morning.

European markets are trading higher so far today.

In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 saw a nice gain.

Crude oil is sitting at $82.15 per barrel.

Wholesale gasoline is $2.07 per gallon.

Natural gas is $6.57 per unit.

Gold up to $731.00 per ounce.

Consumer price index for the month of August will be released at 8:30 this morning.

Housing starts for the month of August will also be released before the open this morning.

Building permits for August set for release at 8:30.

Energy Dept. will release weekly oil inventory levels at 10:30 this morning.

Half percentage point cut by the Federal Reserve fuels the market.

Bank of Japan leaves interest rates unchanged.

Morgan Stanley will be out with earnings today.

Accredited Home Lenders agreed to be bought by Lone Star for $11.75 per share. Back in June the companies had agreed to $15.10 per share.
