Morning News

Futures are pointing to a slightly higher open at this point this morning.

European markets are to the upside today.

In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 did end higher.

Crude oil just above $63.00 per barrel.

Wholesale gasoline pulling back to $2.26 per gallon.

Natural gas making it back to just below $8.00 per unit.

Gold is $662.00 per ounce.

Weekly jobless claims to be released at 8:30 this morning.

First reading of 1st quarter gross domestic product will also be out at 8:30 this morning.

April construction spending figures will be released at 10:00 this morning.

Energy Dept. will release weekly inventory levels today including natural gas numbers.

S&P 500 closed above previous historic high set in March of 2000. The Dow also closed at a new high.

Wachovia Corp. to buy A.G. Edwards in a deal worth a reported $6.8 billion.

Farzad Nazem chief technology officer at Yahoo Inc. to step down.

Motorola Inc. to slash up to another 4,000 jobs.
