Morning News

Futures are pointing to a slightly higher open this morning.

European markets are trading just a bit higher so far today.

In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 did end the day higher.

Crude oil is back above $65.00 per barrel.

Wholesale gasoline remains above $2.41 per gallon.

Natural gas is sitting just under $8.00 per unit.

Gold is $660.00 per ounce.

The Lundberg Survey of 7,000 gas stations shows a rise of 11 cents a gallon over the past two weeks. The average cost of a gallon of gasoline is $3.18

Alltel Corp. to be bought by TPG Capital and a unit of Goldman Sachs for $27.5 billion.

Reports are out that Yahoo Inc. may buy a U.K. social networking site called Bebo.

The Chinese government set to invest up to $3 billion in Blackstone Group.

Reports are out that Boeing has won up to $10 million worth of Arab orders.

Shrek the Third takes in $122 million at the box office in first weekend.
