Futures are pointing to a lower open this morning.

Producer price index for January will be released before the open this morning.

Housing starts for the month of January will also be released before the open today.

Building permits for the month of January will also be released.

University of Michigan's consumer sentiment for the month of February will be releaed today.

European markets are trading to the downside today.

In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 did end just slightly lower.

Microsoft Corp. might feel some pressure after CEO statements. Steve Ballmer believes analyst expectations for the new operating system Vista are to high. He also believes estimates for operating expenses are to low.

Reports are out that American Airlines could be the target of investors for a possible buyout.

Cisco Systems extends deadline for Apple Computer by a week to respond to a trademark infringement lawsuit.

It is being reported that charges against former executives from Broadcom, Apple, and KLA Tencor could be looming relating to the backdating of stock options.

The Hershey Company plans to move a large portion of its production to Mexico. The company will close plants and cut jobs.

Crude oil is just under $58.00 per barrel.

Wholesale gasoline is $1.58 per gallon.

Natural gas is $7.32 per unit.

Gold sitting just under $670.00 per ounce.
