Treasury Secretary Hank Paulson will be speaking today. Dallas Fed President Richard Fister will also be speaking today.

Freeport McMoran Copper & Gold to buy Phelps Dodge.

Nasdaq Stock Market Inc. launches a new $5.1 billion dollar bid for London Stock Exchange.

Blackstone Group to buy Equity Office Properties Trust for $20 billion.

Euraz Group to buy Oregon Steel Mills for $2.3 billion.

Crude oil is $58.57 per gallon.

Wholesale gasoline is $1.53 per gallon.

Natural gas has slipped to just below $8.00 per unit.

Gold is currently $624.00 per ounce.
