Morning News

  • Futures are pointing to a lower open this morning.

European markets are flat to slightly lower this morning. In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 did end the day slightly lower.

Federal Open Market Committee begins two day meeting today. All expectations call for no change in interest rates.

Hurricane Paul bearing down on Cabo San Lucas as a category 1 storm.

Jeffrey Skilling sentenced to just over 24 years for his role in the Enron colapse.

Boeing Company expects China's aircraft fleet to more than triple by the year 2025.

Sony Corp. expects orders for battery packs for computers to decline after latest round of recalled batteries.

BP PLC third quarter profit down just over 3% on weak production numbers.

Netflix active in after hours trading last night after reporting a great quarter. The company continues to see growth in subscriber numbers.

Crude oil is $58.62 per barrel.

Wholesale gasoline is currently $1.46 per gallon.

Natural gas is just below $7.00 per unit.

Gold pulling back to $581.00 per ounce.
