Morning News

  • Futures are pointing to a flat to slightly higher open this morning.
  • The Federal Reserve to meet on Tuesday. A rate hike is expected but people will be looking for any new tones in the statement released tuesday afternoon.
  • According to the Lundberg Survey retail gas prices jumped nearly 15 cents on average over the past two weeks.
  • Chevron Corp. and Exxon Mobil have discovered an oil field in West Africa with up to one billion barrels of oil.
  • Ford Motor company to develop a motor to compete with Diamler Chrysler's Hemi V-8 engine.
  • Airbus conducted a test for it's new A380 double decker plane. 873 people were evacuated from the plane within the 90 second time limit. This was done with half of the 16 exits blocked. Reports say it can take up to 1 1/2 hours to board this plane.
  • Crude Oil is $63.66 per barrel.
  • Wholesale Gasoline is $1.80 per gallon.
  • Natural Gas just above $7.00 per unit.
  • Gold made a move up on Friday and is moving up today to $564.50 per ounce.
