Morning News

  • Futures are pointing to a slightly higher open this morning
  • Weekly Jobless Claims due out this morning.
  • General Electric (GE) to pay $1.55 billion for a 25% stake in Turkish Bank Garanti Bank AS.
  • Nasdaq Stock Market Inc. to offer connectivity, and routing to options exchanges in the first quarter of 2006.
  • Hawaii has set a gas cap on wholesale price of gasoline. Wholesalers can't charge more than just over $2.15 per gallon or $2.74 with all gas taxes included.
  • Crude Oil reached $68.00 per barrel in over night trading due to concerns of tropical storm Katrina. Currently oil has pulled back off those highs to $67.25 per barrel.
  • Gold is currently $443.80 per ounce.
