A storm of stock negative news including Fitch downgrading Greece's credit rating, German industrial production slipping and a climbing U.S. dollar kept stocks steeply negative on the session. Gold and oil followed suit on the back of the stronger U.S. Dollar and negative gold comments out of the Bank of Korea. The DJIA gave back 104.14, the tech heavy Nasdaq fell 16.62 and the broad based U.S. stock barometer S&P 500 dipped 11.32.
