7 Stocks you need to know for Tuesday

Merger madness is back on the front page as several major corporate mergers drove stock prices higher today. The bulls were clearly in control of the street despite late day profit taking. Word of the FDIC requiring banks to prepay insurance fees up to 3 years in advance sent shivers down the spine of shaky bank executives. The DJIA surged 124.17, the tech heavy Nasdaq advanced 39.82 and the broad based S&P 500 gained 18.60.

you need to know for Tuesday.

Expanding drug store chain, Walgreen (WAG | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating), has its sights set on an EPS of 39 cents for its fiscal fourth quarter 2009. WAG will reveal on Tuesday morning before the open.

Popular restaurant owner, Darden Restaurants (DRI | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating), is expecting to see an EPS of 65 cents for their fiscal first quarter 2010 after the bell on Tuesday.
