Stocks soared this morning before quickly reversing to give up most if not all of their gains for the day. Negative sentiment from Sun Trust Bank’s CEO and word that up to 200 additional banks may fail snapped the trap on the bulls. However, the stock market still managed to close mixed on the day with the DJIA adding +3.32, the Nasdaq falling -2.92 and the broad based S&P 500 slipping just -0.57.

Big Lots (BIG | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) has analysts expecting an EPS of $0.31 for the fiscal second quarter 2010 announced before the bell.

$0.89/share is the forecast figure for the Bank of Montreal (BMO | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) for its fiscal third quarter 2009 prior to trading.

Office supply retail chain, Staples (SPLS | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating), has its sights set on $0.16/share for its fiscal second quarter 2010 revealed before the regular session trading starts.
