The Dow ended the day down 88.81. The Nasdaq Composite lost 33.96. And the S&P 500 finished off 12.07.

Here are 7 Stocks You Need to Know for Friday.

Announcing earnings after the bell on Thursday, Dell (DELL | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) beat analyst estimates by two cents. Quarterly revenues, by contrast, were less than expected.

Also announcing earnings after the market closed on Thursday was The Gap (GPS | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating). The Gap beat reported earnings per share that were two cents better than analysts had estimated.

Coeur d'Alene Mines (CDE | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) reports quarterly earnings Friday morning before the market opens. Analysts are expecting an earnings per share loss of 0.01.

Also reporting earnings before the bell Friday morning is Interpublic (IPG | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating), which is expected announce EPS of 29 cents.

IBM (IBM | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) advanced after reaffirming a profit forecast that was more optimistic than anticipated.

Yahoo (YHOO | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) reported that its chief financial officer, Blake Jorgensen will be leaving the internet search company. Jorgensen joined Yahoo! in the summer of 2007.

Goldman Sachs (GS | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) warned that the S&P 500 could fall to as low as 650 if home values continue to fall.
