7 Stocks you need to know for Friday

Dell (DELL | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) was added to Goldman Sach's "conviction sell" list on Thursday due to earnings concerns.

Retail earnings afterhours on Thursday included Kohls (KSS | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating), which beat by a penny, and Nordstrom (JWN | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating), which missed by a penny. More retail earnings are due Friday morning before the bell, with analysts expecting earnings per share of 0.53 from JC Penny (JCP | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating).

Among the few stocks that are oversold above the 200-day moving average, two belong to the biotechnology sector, Amgen (AMGN | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) and Cephalon Inc. (CEPH | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating).

Energy stocks helped lead the markets' tremendous oversold rally on Thursday. Near the head of that pack was Chevron (CVX | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating), which gained more than 12%.
