7 Stocks you need to know for Thursday

Research in Motion (RIMM | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) reports quarterly earnings Thursday after the market closes. Analysts are expecting EPS of 0.87.

Standard and Poor's downgraded the credit rating of Washington Mutual (WM | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) again on Wednesday. The stock was down more than 20% on the day.

The biggest loser in the Dow industrials on Wednesday was American International Group (AIG | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating), which lost more than 29%.

Goldman Sachs (GS | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) is getting a $5 billion investment from Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway.

Broadcom (BRCM | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) rallied by more than 4% after a judge's ruling that Qualcomm (QCOM | Quote | Chart | News | PowerRating) had infringed on patents owned by Broadcom.
