Morning News

Futures are pointing to a slightly lower open at this point in the morning.

European markets are trading lower so far today.

In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 did close lower.

Crude oil is sitting just below $100.00 per barrel.

Wholesale gasoline is $2.47 per gallon.

Natural gas is $9.13 per unit.

Gold is currently $959.00 per ounce.

Weekly jobless claims will be released at 8:30 this morning.

Fourth quarter GDP will be released at 8:30 this morning.

Energy Dept. will release weekly natural gas inventories at 10:30 this morning.

Ben Bernanke will be speaking before the Senate Banking Committee today.

Yesterday's action had the Dow finish 9 points higher, the Nasdaq gained 8 points, and the S&P lost 1 point.

Sears Holding quarterly profit down 47.5% on lower sales at KMart and Sears stores.

Ford plans to make 55,000 fewer vehicles in the first quarter.

Verizon in talks with Qwest on wireless deal.
