Morning News

Futures are pointing to a higher open this morning.

European markets are trading higher today.

In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 did end higher.

Crude oil is sitting just under $100.00 per barrel.

Wholesale gasoline is $2.57 per gallon.

Natural gas is $9.01 per unit.

Gold has made it to $946.00 per ounce.

Weekly jobless claims set to be released at 8:30 this morning.

Reading on leading indicators will be released at 10:00 this morning.

Energy Dept. will release weekly oil inventory levels at 10:30 this morning.

Yesterday's action saw the Dow close 90 points higher, the nasdaq gained 20 points, and the S&P added 11 points.

Fed minutes released yesterday afternoon leave the door open for more rate cuts.

Research In Motion expects new subscriber growth to come in 15 to 20 percents higher than previously forcasted.

ChoicePoint Inc. has agreed to be bought for $4.1 billion.

Cisco upgraded to a buy at Citigroup.

Reports are out that the U.S. Navy has has scored a direct hit on a dead satellite which was falling toward earth.
