Morning News

Futures are pointing to a flat to slightly higher open this morning.

European markets are trading up a bit so far today.

In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 did end the day higher.

Crude oil is $91.50 per barrel.

Wholesale gasoline is sitting at $2.29 per gallon.

Natural gas remains just above $8.00 per unit.

Gold is $884.00 per ounce.

Weekly jobless claims will be released at 8:30 this morning.

December housing starts will also be out at 8:30 this morning.

Ben Bernanke will testify on Capitol Hill this morning at 10:00.

The Energy Dept. will release natural gas inventories at 10:30 this morning.

Yesterday's action had the Dow down 34 points, The Nasdaq lost 23 points, and the S&P ended 8 points lower.

FDA now saying over the counter cold medicines to risky for babies and young children.

Merrill Lynch out with quarterly results looks like they are reporting a loss of $12.01 a share and looks like a write down of $14.1 billion.
