Intuit (INTU | charts | news | PowerRating) beat earnings after the close on Thursday, announcing $1.13 EPS over an expected $1.07 EPS.

Kohl's (KSS | charts | news | PowerRating) beat earnings on Thursday afternoon, with $0.64 EPS over an expected $0.62 EPS.

Alliance Data Systems (ADS | charts | news | PowerRating) agreed to be bought out by private equity firm Blackstone for $7.8 bln.

WPP Group (WPPGY | charts | news | PowerRating) announced on Thursday a deal to buy 24/7 Real Media (TFSM | charts | news | PowerRating) for $649 million.
