Morning News

Futures are pointing to a slightly higher open this morning.

Weekly jobless claims will be released before the open this morning.

Final reading of consumer sentiment for November will be released at 10:00 this morning.

Energy Dept. will release oil inventories at 10:30 this morning.

European markets are to the upside today.

In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 did end the day higher.

Today is the busiest travel day of the year. Some travel delays are expected along the east coast due to rain and wind.

Dell Inc. trading higher last night in after hours trading due to better than expected earnings release.

Brocade Communications also out with better than expected earnings.

Alcoa Inc. out with a major restructuring program which includes a 5% cut in its workforce.

Comcast Corp. to acquire ownership stake in E! Networks from Walt Disney Company for $1.23 billion.

International Business Machines and Cray Inc. both awarded contracts from U.S. Defense Advanced Research Projects Agengy to develop bigger and better computers.

Crude oil is currently $59.87 per barrel

Wholesale gasoline is just over $1.60 per gallon.

Natural gas sitting right at $8.00 per unit.

Gold is $627.00 per ounce.
