Morning News

Futures are pointing to a slightly lower open this morning.

Building permits for the month of October will be released this morning.

Housing starts for the month of October will also be released this morning.

European markets are trading lower today.

In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 did end down just a bit.

NYMEX Holdings is set to beging trading today. The IPO is priced at $59.00 per share, and the ticker symbol is NMX.

Hewlett Packard reports the company tripled its profits from one year ago. The company also stating they are cooperating with the SEC in what now is a formal investigation into the Boardroom leak.

Johnson & Johnson to buy Conor Medsystems for $1.4 billion.

Starbucks Corp. profit falls just over 5% from the same time period one year ago.The company reported it earned $117.3 million compared to $123.7 million for the same time period.

Crude oil has pulled all the way back to $55.61 per barrel.

Wholesale gasoline is down to $1.52 per gallon.

Natural gas drops just below $8.00 per unit.

Gold is currently $617.00 per ounce.
