Morning News

  • Futures are up this morning pointing to a higher open.

Employment cost index will be released this morning.

Consumer confidence for October will be released at 10:00 this morning.

Chicago PMI also due to be released this morning.

European markets are trading up slightly today. In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 did end the day higher.

Reports are out that North Korea has agreed to rejoin talks over its nuclear program.

U.S Department of Justice probing Sony Corp. over antitrust violations.

Sirna Therapeutics shares soar over 95% in after hours trading last night on news the company will be bought by Merck & Company.

New York is holding public hearings on a proposal that would ban restaurants from using artifial fats. KFC has announced they will stop using artificial fats for frying chicken.

Crude oil pulled back to $58.27 per barrel.

Wholesale gasoline is $1.44 per gallon.

Natural gas remains just above $7.00 per unit.

Gold holding just over $600.00 per ounce.
