Morning News

  • Futures are pointing to a flat to slightly lower open this morning.
  • Weekly Jobless Claims will be released before the market opens this morning.
  • Leading indicators for September will be released at 10:00 this morning.
  • October Philidelphia Fed Survey will be released at noon today.
  • Energy Dept. will release natural gas inventories at 10:30 this morning.
  • European markets are trading to the downside today. In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 did end the day lower.
  • Apple Computer saw big sales of its iPod and Macintosh computers. The company earned $546 million or 62 cents per share which was above expectations.
  • Boeing signs $1.07 billion contract with the U.S. Airforce. The company will build military satellites if approved by Congress.
  • Wal-Mart Stores to expand its reduce price on generic prescription plan to 14 more states.
  • Coca Cola out with strong earnings. The company also plans to buyback $2 billion to $2.5 billion in stock.
  • Nissan Motor Company to recall 130,000 vehicles due to an ignition problem.
  • Crude oil is down to $57.75 per barrel.
  • Wholesale gasoline is $1.46 per gallon.
  • Natural gas back up to $6.83 per unit.
  • Gold just above $590.00 per ounce.
