Morning News

  • Futures are pointing to a higher open this morning.
  • Consumer Price Index will be released before the open this morning.
  • Housing starts for the month of September will be released at 8:30 this morning.
  • Building permit figures will also be released at 8:30 this morning.
  • The Energy Dept. will release oil inventories at 10:30 this morning.
  • European markets are trading to the upside today. In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 ended the day higher.
  • Yahoo Inc. net sales rise, but the company reported a 37% drop in profit. The company also did announce a $3 billion share buyback plan.
  • International Business Machines Corp. trading higher after releasing earnings yesterday.
  • Motorola trading lower after reporting a below forcast number in sales.
  • Carnival Corp. to increase quarterly dividend.
  • Honda Motor Company now selling business jets here in the United States.
  • Crude oil is back down to $58.57 per barrel.
  • Wholesale gasoline is $1.46 per gallon.
  • Natural gas back up to $6.45 per unit.
  • Gold is currently $595.00 per ounce.
