Morning News

  • Futures are pointing to a flat to slightly lower open today.
  • Retail sales for September will be released at 8:30 this morning.
  • Consumer sentiment for October will be released this morning.
  • September import price index will also be released today.
  • European markets are trading to the upside today. In Tokyo the Nikkei 225 ended the day higher.
  • General Electric due to release earnings before the open this morning.
  • ACME Packet Inc. new issue set to begin trading today on the Nasdaq under the symbol ( APKT )
  • EZCorp. Inc. raises outlook on financial forcast.
  • Hewlett Packard Company names Jon Hoak new chief ethics and compliance officer.
  • Toyota Motor Corp. rolls out first Kentucky made hybrid. The company plans to produce up to 48,000 hybrid cars at the new Kentucky plant.
  • Homebuilder Centex Corp. out with a profit warning.
  • Pennsylvania jury rules that Wal Mart Stores Inc. violated labor laws.
  • All eyes on the Dow Jones Industrial Average as it attempts to take out 12,000
  • Buffalo New York getting pounded by lake effect snow. Reports are out that the area has already recieved over 2 feet of snow. 250,000 people are without power, and more snow is expected to fall throughout the day on Friday.
