  • Futures are down just a bit this morning pointing to a slightly lower open.
  • Weekly jobless claims will be released this morning before the open.
  • July personal income will also be released this morning.
  • July consumer spending figures will also be released before the open.
  • July factory orders also due for release.
  • European markets are slightly lower today. While in Tokyo the Nikkei 225 saw a gain of 1.7%
  • GoldCorp. makes offer to buy Glamis Gold for $8.6 billion.
  • Harrah's Entertainment has made a $530 million offer for London Clubs International.
  • Tropical storm Ernesto making its way back to the open waters of the Atlantic, and bearing down on the Carolina's.
  • Hurricane John currently a category 3 storm pounding the Mexican coast.
  • With the U.N. deadline running out today it is expected that Iran's president will not give in on his countries nuclear program.
  • Crude oil up a bit to $70.65 per barrel.
  • Wholesale gasoline is $1.81 per gallon.
  • Natural gas just above $6.00 per unit.
  • Gold back up to $630.00 per ounce.
