Morning News

  • Futures are up just a bit this morning we could see a slightly higher open.
  • Consumer confidence for August will be released at 10:00 this morning.
  • FOMC minutes will be released at 2:00 this afternoon.
  • European markets are trading higher today. Asian markets are also higher with the Nikkei 225 gaining 128 points.
  • Tropical storm Ernesto making its way toward south Florida.
  • Barnes & Noble recieves subpoena over its stock option practices.
  • Boeing Co. announces a $ 3 billion stock buy-back.
  • U.S. Government conducting investigation of BP Plc. The government looking into the possibility that the company manipulated oil and gasoline markets.
  • In Japan they are investigating first case of a fire in an Apple Computer laptop. It is believed the problem stems from the battery pack.
  • Crude oil is $70.77 per barrel.
  • Wholesale gasoline all the way down to $1.79 per gallon.
  • Natural gas has pulled back to just above $6.00 per unit.
  • Gold at $626.00 per ounce.
