Morning News

Futures are up just a bit this morning pointing to a higher open.

Energy Dept. will release natural gas inventories at 10:30 this morning.

Weekly jobless claims will be released before the market opens today.

July durable goods orders will be released at 8:30 this morning.

At 10:00 this morning new home sales numbers will be released.

European markets are trading just slightly higher today. In Tokyo the Nikki 225 lost 1.3%

McDonald's Corp. announcing that Mike Roberts the president and COO is resigning.

Rite Aid reportedly is close to a deal to buy Eckerd Drugs Stores and, Brooks Drugs Stores.

Reports are out that Ford Motor Company looking at options which include taking the company private.

BP Plc. losing another 90,000 barrels a day at Prudhoe Bay facility due to compressor problems.

Crude oil has pulled back to $71.66 per barrel.

Wholesale gasoline has really pulled back. Current price for a gallon is $1.84

Natural gas is $7.18 per unit.

Gold remaining right around $634.00 per ounce.
