Morning News

  • Futures are pointing to a mixed open this morning. The Nasdaq futures are to the downside on Yahoo Inc. earnings released after the bell last night.
  • Consumer Price Index to be released this morning.
  • Energy Dept. will release oil inventories at 10:30 this morning.
  • June housing starts also will be released today.
  • European markets are trading to the upside this morning. The Nikkei 225 also closed to the upside.
  • Ben Bernanke will be speaking to Congress today.
  • Yahoo Inc. shares drop in after hours trading last night on earnings report, and 3rd quarter forcast.
  • Illumina Inc. traded higher in after hours trading due to a good earnings report.
  • BP to shut down 12 oil wells in Alaska. There are serious concerns that major leaks are taking place in many of the companies wells.
  • Crude oil currently $73.00 per barrel.
  • Wholesale gasoline is $2.24 per gallon.
  • Natural gas is below $6.00 per unit.
  • Gold pulling back to $621.00 per ounce.
