Morning News

  • Futures are up just a bit this morning pointing to a slightly higher open.
  • Investors attention will be focused on the minutes to be released from the last Federal Reserve interest rate meeting.
  • OPEC meeting today. It is believed production will remain at 28 million barrels per day.
  • With Memorial Day this week I believe the Energy Dept. will release oil inventories on Thursday.
  • It is now believed more than 5,800 people have been killed in Indonesia. The quake over the weekend has now left more than 640,000 people displaced. The United States has lifted its aid contribution to 5 million dollars.
  • Novartis announcing the FDA has approved its Omnitrope Hormone used to traet growth disorders.
  • Papa Jophn's same store sales for May increase by 5.2%
  • Goldman Sachs has lifted its view on gold to attractive from neutral. Goldman has also lifted its price estimate for 2006 to $635.00 per ounce.
  • J.P Morgan upgrades Research In Motion this morning.
  • Crude Oil is down just a bit to $71.34 per barrel.
  • Wholesale gas remains high at $2.13 per gallon.
  • Natural Gas just above $6.00 per unit.
  • Gold down slightly to $659.00 per ounce.
