Morning News

  • Futures are down once again this morning pointing to a lower open.
  • NYSE Group Inc. offers $10.2 billion to buy Euronext. Euronext reported last week that they are in talks with a number of potential buyers.
  • Royal Dutch Shell in talks with China National Offshore Oil Corp. Shell looking to acquire a stake in CNOOC.
  • Vietnam and the U.S. to sign trade deal in June. This deal would allow Vietnam to be a part of the World Trade Organization.
  • Sonny Ericsson to launch a walkman cell phone in Japan.
  • Wal-Mart to sell its 16 stores it owns in South Korea.
  • The Lundberg Survey shows a decline in the price of gasoline for the first time since February. The survey of 7,000 gas stations shows a drop of just over a penny per gallon.
  • Crude oil is pulling back current price is $67.52 per barrel.
  • Wholesale gasoline is $2.01 per gallon.
  • Natural gas remains just below $6.00 per unit.
  • Gold continues to slide. Current price is $645.00 per ounce.
