Morning News

  • Futures are pointing to a slightly higher open this morning.
  • Investment Group consisting of Cerberus Group, Kimco Realty, and Supervalue Inc. likely to win auction for Albertsons for $9.6 billion.
  • BellSouth Corp. to cut 1,500 jobs mostly management positions.
  • Former HealthSouth Corp. CEO Richard Scrushy suing the company for more than $70 million.
  • Transit workers in NYC report to work this morning. Fears were the transit workers would begin a strike today have been delayed as Union leaders and the Transit Agency continue talks.
  • Today is the last day on regular radio for Howard Stern. He will now be heard on Sirius Satellite Radio beggining in Jan.
  • Crude oil continues to pull back currently $59.57 per barrel.
  • Wholesale Gasoline is $1.59 per gallon.
  • Natural Gas has really pulled back here to $13.50 per unit.
  • Gold is up slightly this morning to $507.80 per ounce.
