CUP/ Copper Stocks
LME copper inventories rose 725 tons to 81,625 metric tons; concerns about production meeting demand for 2006 is causing copper prices in London to rally for the 3rd consecutive day; LME copper rose $10 to $4,440 and is not far off 12/9 record level of $4,475. Copper stocks were strong yesterday and could be very volatile today especially since copper prices in Shanghai hit a fresh record high on supply/demand concerns.
