Morning News

  • Futures are pointing to a slightly higher open this morning.
  • Georgia Pacific Corp. (GP) has agreed to a buyout offer from Koch Industries Inc. The deal reportedly worth $21 billion or $48.00 per share.
  • General Motors Corp. (GM) to offer RED TAG incentive program which cuts vehicle prices up to $3000 per vehicle. The program expected to boost sales , and could set off another round of incentive programs from other companies.
  • Knight Ridder (KRI) board has decided to explore the possibility of a sale of the company.
  • Goldman Sachs Group Inc. sells all but 1 percent of it's stake in Mitsubishi Motors just 3 days after purchasing 12.4 percent stake in the company from Diamler Chrysler.
  • Crude Oil is $58.02 per barrel.
  • Wholesale Gasoline is currently $1.50 per gallon.
  • Natural Gas has moved back up a bit currently $11.93 per unit.
  • Gold is up this morning currently $470.70 per ounce.
